The Pilgrim and The Star - a poetry collection

The Pilgrim and The Star is a poetry collection that I am currently working on, that has been shaped by my love of nature and its inspiring qualities. The collection is split into four separate chapters, each based on one of the four seasons and looks to explore the pleasure and happiness we feel from nature in our happiest moments, as well as its calming support through our darkest, loneliest times. The poem below, is the first in the collection and the beginning of a journey into the imagination with nature as the stimulus:

The Pilgrim And The Star

If there are a thousand stars in the night-time sky,

They influence our paths in a myriad ways.

Though they appear but a dream, always out of reach,

They each govern our lives with undiminished praise.

So many pathways I have chosen in my life,

Wandering each long road, alone and uncertain.

But now I understand the answer to my doubts,

And the star that kindles my deepest conviction.

So I begin a journey into the unknown,

Guided only by the belief which carries my soul.

Following the light in the northern sky, to which

Ever ending my inquisitive mind will stroll.

Seeking solace in the revealing insights, which

Nature arouses through the seasons of her grace.

Easing the pain of loved ones lost, and allowing

New memories, an enduring and lasting place.

The spirit of the pilgrim lies in all of us.

It is the yearn for endless adventure.

Some say the future's written in our palms,

But I intend to write my own future.

Tomorrow I begin my journey, with only

The celestial bodies as a companion.

But the present is not the time to dwell, but to

Absorb into nature's soothing relaxation.
